My Philippine Travel Grade is a C!

Eugene at Lakbayan has a cool scorecard for grading how much of the Philippines you’ve seen. My score is a C!

My Lakbayan grade is C!

This map shows the 3 areas I’ve lived in (dark blue): Laguna, Cebu/Negros and Benguet. I’ve never been to Palawan and I hope to remedy that someday. Nor to Mindanao or the eastern part of the country. There are a lot of provinces I’ve yet to visit!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!

I’d love to see your travel grade and map. Post a link here so I can go visit your blog.

I got a “D” but i dont sweat it since I was only there for 5 months. I did travel in a lot of places other Americans wouldn’t dare go. But then I’m adventurous.

next visit I’ll raise my “Grade”

My C grade is encouraging me to try and see more of the Philippines. I haven’t even been to half of it!

Don, if it was your first visit, a D grade isn’t bad. There are a host of places in the Philippines that are truly beautiful. Be sure to check them out the next time. :)

Fortunately my job with the Govt. TV back in the 70’s afforded me the great opportunity to travel around the Philippine islands by all means of transportations available. The PAF Huey choppers and airplanes that took us anywhere in the islands, the Ford Fieras, the diesel Jeepneys and the bancas and ferry boats, trips to document on film endorsed by the Department of Tourism spearheaded then by the late Sec. Aspiras. The late travel writer Marilou Shih of the DOT and photographer Boy Pitoy and Joe Cobilla was a frequent partner on those memorable trips. Therefore for my Philippine Travel grade, I got an A+!

I got a C minus! Anyway, look at the bright side — there are more places to visit in the coming years. =)
