What was the first thing in your mind when you saw this image?
Poverty? Yes, obviously. It’s a family in the middle of what could only be a squatter site backdropped with high-rise buildings. Trash all around, and maybe it’s a dumpsite too. There’s a really tiny house/store and a bathroom made of corrugated metal to the side. Teenagers loitering around means they’re not in school, or maybe out of it, either by choice or out of luck.

Walking along Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur is like traveling a hundred years back in time. The street is so preserved that one expects to see a graceful Spanish lady escorted by her gentleman.
 
Part of Vigan’s Heritage Village, Calle Crisologo is only a few hundred meters long of cobblestone street lined with Spanish-era houses on either side. Most of the homes have been converted to inns, museums and souvenir shops, such as tho.

Survivor Philippines Episode 20: New Friends, New Camp, New Tribal Council

In the previous episode of Survivor Philippines, the Naak tribe lost the immunity challenge. In addition to needing to vote out another member of their tribe, they also had to move to a new camp.
Episode 20, which aired on October 10, started with Day 11. At the Jarakay Camp, Kiko continued to prove useful to his “kidnappers”, giving them suggestions on managing their fire even through the night. Jarakay had received a gift of huge mussels from Naak, something that they fully enjoyed.
