Siargao - the Philippines’ surfing capital

Surfing season has begun in the Philippines!

When you thought of surfing, you think “Hawaii”… well, now think more of “Siargao”!

Siargao island

From August to March, when the western hemispheres can be quite cold, Siargao becomes the place to be for surfing and beach enthusiasts. The picture about may not do justice to what you’ll experience in Siargao, but wait till you catch the ‘wave’.

Siargao has only been popular of late, when its best-kept secrets slowly became word-of-mouth attractions. Just off Tuason Point is the best surf break in the Philippines. It has the best known surfing waves, called Cloud 9, for its thick hollow tubes that’s perfect for participants of an international competition held every October. Just look at this awesome video of surfers rolling through cloud 9.
