Video: Ces Drilon’s Kidnapping

ABS-CBN has released videos taken by the crew which was kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf last month. The kidnapped group included popular news anchor Ces Drilon. The videos were part of a documentary called ‘Kidnap’.
The documentary includes interviews with Drilon and crew members Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama, as they recounted their ordeal in great detail. Actual footage secretly taken by Encarnacion shows their kidnappers, carrying their guns as they hiked through the forest. Ces Drilon’s Interview after Abduction

Ces Drilon gave a press conference after her release from captivity by the Abu Sayyaf. Her friend and former colleague Senator Loren Legarda was by her side during the interview. We see Ces’ emotional recollection of her ordeal in this video, and her gratitude towards those who helped secure her release and that of her companions. She also talks about a “betrayal” that occurred, which led to the abduction. That statement will surely fuel speculations and a possible investigation into the betrayal.

Ces Drilon and Companions Released After Kidnapping

ABS-CBN’s Ces Drilon and her companions have been released.
Ms. Drilon and two companions were abducted by suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf on the island of Jolo last week. The two companions are cameraman Jim Encarnacion and Mindanao State University professor Octavio Dinampo. Another ABS-CBN crew member, Angelo Valderama, had also been kidnapped but was released earlier, reportedly after a ransom of $2,250 was paid.
The official line is that no ransom has been paid for the release of the three this Tuesday.

Ces Drilon and Crew Taken by the Abu Sayyaf

ABS-CBN’s Ces Drilon and two of her crew are missing after they were intercepted by members of the Abu Sayyaf in southern Philippines on Sunday. The other staff members are Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama. Also with them was Octavio Dinampo, a professor at Mindanao State University. The professor was accompanying them to a meeting with the Abu Sayyaf.
The most recent updates report that the crew are alive and are being treated well.
