The World Tour 2008 of Celine Dion “Taking Chances” has kicked off, and the diva is going to the Madison Square Garden on September 15-16, 2008! I would be surprised if tickets haven’t sold out yet, but Ticket Master is still advertising the show.

American Idol season 7 finalists Ramiele Malubay and Daniel Noriega will be in the Philippines come December to guest in the Ogie Alcasid Concert.
Billed as “Ogie Sings with the Idols”, the 2-day concert on December 20-21 will showcase the talents of the two Filipino Americans who got into the coveted top 24 finalist of the American Idol season 7. The Eraserheads Reunion concert will push through this Saturday. But maybe now we won’t see tobacco ads littering the venue.
Philip Morris, the tobacco giant that initially sponsored the concert for members of its Red List, has backed out of the deal to promote the concert. The Department of Health (DOH) has threatened to sue the company for violations of Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 if it pushes through with its plans.

The smoking giant, Philip Morris International, is in hot waters. The tobacco company has sponsored the Eraserheads Reunion Concert on August 30, when laws explicitly prohibit cigarette firms from sponsoring events that would advertise anything related to a tobacco product.
The loophole that Philip Morris is using? “The concert is by invitation only, and can not be purchased or transferred“, according to Philip Morris chief executive officer Louis C. Camilleri. C’mon now, who isn’t?
Last year’s Broadway revival of the classic Les Miserables was much awaited, but the crowds went wild for Lea! And the fans lingered backstage until she appeared for autographs. She is really such a great singer, and a beautiful person.
