Manila Bulletin blurbed this week as the “Linggo ng Kasuotang Pilipino” (Week of Filipino Costumes) in celebration of our diverse culture and national history as shown through native wear.
I did a little research about our indigenous costumes and found some cool info and trivia that I want to share:
All Filipino costumes have these in common: (a) colorful; (b) loose-fitting.
Costumes of the mountain tribe are handwoven, with colorful stripes of designs. A man’s influence in the community is known by the number of stripes on his costume.
