The Lasang Pinoy Blogging Event
L-O. Recycled. Second (even third) gen. Comebacks. Call it whatever you want. Filipinos are good at reclying our left over foods. Some are so good at it that there’s actually a blogging event to celebrate our culinary creativity.

Lasang Pinoy is on its 16th month and this round’s theme is all about recycling.
Let us now count the ways . . . how creative [and frugal] Lasang Pinoy foodies across the globe have been during the past month. Let’s enjoy the spread of delectable “tiramisus” [another Pinoy street lingo coined from the Tagalog word “tira-tira” or “tira” which means leftover] each foodie has prepared for the round.
For this round, we challenge you to whip-up specialties recycled from a dish you cooked for dinner a few nights ago, or a take-away from the restaurant or a neighbourhood fiesta. The choice is yours. Just recycle!
Here’s a sampling a one cook named PaulN, from beef steak to a totally different salpicao:

And a lot more to wet your tastebuds at MikeMina’s Lafang.

Kanin’g bahaw turns into sinangag or fried garlic rice here in the states. Paksiw is a good testament to the many ways you can recycle meat.
Adobo leftovers wrapped in dough and baked turns into adobong siopao. My kids leftover green peas, carrots and stringbeans goes into the frying pan with rice, egg, cut up leftover longganisa with spices, turns into the ever popular chinese fried rice.
