This Filipina Soul
Finally, this Filipina Soul found her way in this B5media home. I hope the dear readers at the old AW site will eventually land here, soon…somehow. The love month February is supposed to be a time for good happenings but the Philippines faced one tragedy after another: from the ULTRA stampede to the landslide in Southern Leyte.
February 25 is supposed to be the 20th year anniversary of the world-famous EDSA revolution that freed the Filipino people from the Marcos dictatorship.

Freedom. BIG word.
We Filipinos seem to shout it at the top of our lungs at every administration. But its true meaning may have been lost in us.
Responsibility. Discipline. We need big lessons in those too.
Yesterday, Gloria the President, talked to the whole nation and in her speech emphasized that she is the best person to lead this country in a transition to parliament. Most people, especially opposing politicians have been questioning her credibility since she sat on the presidential throne.
This morning i woke up to the news of an aborted coup d’etat. (check our major local paper, INQ7.net) And I thought: “can things get any worse than they already are?”
We surely have TONS to talk about because life in the Philippines is a conglomeration of the extremes and oddities, of the bad and the beautiful, not to mention the world’s sweetest mangoes and happiest peoples.
Well, like anybody who just moved into a new home. I need to sweep and comb through my old entries and get rid of the cobwebs. It might take awhile to put and see everything in their proper place. So please bear with me.
