We’ve featured pool genius Efren “Bata” Reyes here a few times, as he competes in (and wins) billiards championships all over the world. A lot of Filipinos know who he is. They’ve watched him perform his magic with a cue stick, and might even remember a commercial he did for San Miguel beer.

For those who have no idea why he is very highly esteemed in the billiard halls the world over, this video shows why he’s aptly called “The Magician”:

These are just some of his awesome shots. The match shown here, where the gallery erupted in cheers at his win, was in 1996 against Jim Rempe. Years later, he still hasn’t lost his touch.
